A product designed to aid the needs of blind children by enhancing their touch senses and feel for different materials. This product can be easily and cheaply made and used around the house or even used as a game in schools to help students learn.

I marked out this shape using a pencil and a ruler and then cut this out as a template using a scalpel. I then cut out 20 of these shapes.
I used a scalpel to cut into an aluminium can and cut out a square shape. Then I folded over the edges to ensure there weren't any sharp edges.
I used a glue gut to then attach the can to one of the pieces of card, to make the first sensory card.
Using a newspaper I used one page and rolled it tightly together to make one long pole. I then bent the pole into shape and used the glue gun to attach it to the sensory card.
I gathered a toilet roll without the tissue on and cut it into a long strip. Once this was done I attached it to the sensory card in a way to make it have a better texture.
I used a scalpel to cut the small piece of plastic off a plastic drinks bottle. I then used a glue gun to attach the plastic to the card. I made sure that some piece of the plastic were different sides up to create different textures.
Using origami I made two different objects that could be stuck to the sensory card. Making them into these shapes allows the paper to stand off the card to make it easier to feel.
Using scissors I cut off the plastic from a drinks bottle and stuck it to a sensory card making sure it was crumpled.
This sensory card was made from an old dressing gown, using scissors to cut a small square shape out, I then folded over the sides and stuck the material down using a glue gun.
Firstly I cut off a long piece of string and then spread glue over the card and placed the string on the glue to ensure the string overlaps.
Once I had made a hole in the bottom of a plastic bottle using a scalpel I then used scissors to cut around the bottom and then attached the bottom to the sensory card.
Using old lollypop sticks I cut them into different sized shapes and then used marker pens to colour them in. Once this was done I attached them using a glue gun.
I took the tops of various different bottles off and then attached them to the sensory card using a glue gun.
Using the old netting from a pack of oranges I simply folded the netting up stuck down with glue ensuring that half of the netting was not flattened to the card.
Using the tab of a aluminium can I simply opened and closed it several times until it became loose and fell off. Once I did this I attached it to the sensory card.
Using a scalpel I cut this rubber in half and ensured it was smooth on both sides and then stuck it down to the sensory card.
Using the hotwire machine I cut this foam out and then sanded certain parts of it to leave different rough and smooth sides to feel the different textures. I then glued the foam down onto the card.
This is my product in a classroom environment, where it can be easily used by pupils as a game or teaching purposes.
