Really quick and easy earrings, made from some old Early Learning Centre Red Alien toys. Made by my 7 year old daughter for her mums birthday. This is a lovely way to Upcycle old toys as a gift and also captures wonderful memories from the past, forever.

Materials & Equipment List

Materials
- 2 small disused toys
- 2 silver plated earring findings- 2 oval jumprings

Equipment
- Drill
- 1mm drill bit
- Small needle nose pliers

Making Instructions (Login to see the full instructions)

For this project, you will need these items.
Here
Give some consideration to where and how you want the toy to hang, and then carefully drill a hole in the toy, using the 1mm drill bit. This was the only part of the build process that my daughter was not allowed to do - but not because the Alien looked concerned...
Repeat the above process for both toys, as illustrated.
Now, using the pliers, carefully open the loop of the oval jumpring and thread it through the hole in the toy.
Taking the earring finding, thread the finding through the jumpring before closing it with the pliers.
Thread the finding through the jumpring before closing it with the pliers.
Do this for both earrings, like this.
Red (concerned-looking) Alien earrings! Finished.
