Using a hack saw cut in between the groves creating 7cm strips, 12cm apart alternating on each row.
Once satisfied with your pattern push the cut strips inwards
Design created after pushing in all the strips.
On the base of the tin mark out the centre  point.
From the centre  point drill a 30mm hole (this is so you can attach to a light fitting)
Sand of any sharp edges.
Using spray paint, add your desired colour.
Once paint has dried add the shade to a lamp or light fitting.
End result.
