Making Instructions (Login to see the full instructions)

Find yourself a handful of interesting and well-weighted objects to use as a sturdy base. Scavenge though skips and shine a torch around your sheds. Your objects may need cutting to make a flat base, sanding and polishing. Here, I have a wooden cupboard handle, a chrome shower fitting, a beautifully carved wooden chair leg, a brass door knob and a black ceramic mount for a door handle.
Drill holes in your selected objects to accommodate a length of wire for the stem of the photograph holder. For items with an existing hole (which would be too big to hold the wire stem, such as my shower fitting or ceramic mount), you can upcycle an old cork to fill the hole, while at the same time, maintaining the vintage chic!Drill a hole in the cork to hold the wire.TIP: I've drilled mine slightly off-centered to make for a more interesting design.
Cut some lengths of wire to use as the stems of your photo holders. I've cut mine to lengths that reflect the appearance of the base. Short and stumpy or tall and proud.TIP: You can, of course, bend, curve or loop the wire for added appeal.Notice the corks mentioned in Step 2!
Making the clips. Two pull-rings can be upcycled into perfect clips to hold the photographs /memos. Simply attach them both face to face by any means. Soldering them would be ideal but a hot glue gun works just as well. Be sure to pull out a tab from one of the pull-rings, as the little hole is where the other end of the wire stem will be connected.
Connect your upcycled photo clip to the rest of your project, using your chosen method, using the hole in the pull-ring, mentioned in Step 4.
Collect your most precious photos and compliment with your new upcycled, vintage chic "New-Fangled" photo holders.Spread them around your house or gather them together as a unique collection.
