The Favum lamp was created using a single recycled sheet of honeycomb cardboard. Favums intricate honeycomb pattern creates a lovely warm atmosphere as the light spreads throughout the room.

Materials & Equipment List

1 sheet of honeycomb cardboard 1 Sheet of corrugated cardboard UHU Glue Scalpel Cutting Mat Metal Ruler

Making Instructions (Login to see the full instructions)

First of all start by peel the solid card walls away from the honeycomb interior.
Next peel the other side and get rid of any excess cardboard that remains.
Once all the cardboard is removed from the honeycomb, cut the sheet into four equal sections carefully using a scalpel and metal ruler.
Using another sheet of corrugated cardboard, cut thin strips to the size of the edges of the four panels with a scalpel and metal ruler.
Attach the cut cardboard walls to the edges of the honeycomb walls using a small amount of UHU glue.
Next cut in a straight line from the top edge of the walls at a 45 degree angle to the edge and apply cardboard wall to the top edge.
Finish shade by gluing the four honeycomb panels together using small amounts of UHU glue.
Start the light fitting by cutting two cardboard squares (95mmx95mm) and 4 equal rectangles (95mmx60mm) Cut a circle in the centre of one of the squares to the diameter of your light fitting. Next cut a hole into the sides of one of the rectangles for the light wiring to go through (5mmx10mm).
Glue the light fitting into place and assemble the fitting box using UHU glue.
Thread plug though honeycomb (you will have to unscrew the wiring to do this).
Place fitting box inside the ready made honeycomb shade.
Once all these steps are completed your Favum lamp should look like this.
