Making Instructions (Login to see the full instructions)

Collect straws of your choice. Carefully measure equal lengths, this will distinguish the size of the final flower.Note: Small flower cut the sections to 1.5cm Medium flower cut the sections to 3cm Large flower cut the sections to 4-6cmThis is a guideline.
Cut the straws at one end into an arc, repeat this step to all straws.
Flatten the straws to create a crease; this will make it easier to cut along the length. You should now have 2 separate pieces of straw with an arc at one end. Repeat this step to all straws.
Pinch the straw at the opposite end of the arc and carefully pierce a safety pin through the end.
Head Slide and ring.Make 5 straw flowers to the size of your choice. For the earrings, apply epoxy glue to the back of the flowers and hold in place for glue to set. Glue the gem into the middle of the flower using the same glue.Head slideWeave excess wire through the centres of the flowers and in-between the grips on the slide. Glue the gem into the middle of each flower using glue.
Once all the straws have been threaded on to the wire, pull both ends of the wire together and twist around one and other to fasten. Snip off any excess wire. The basic flower is now complete.
Head bandMake two Straw flowers one with 6cm straws and the other with 2cm.Attach both flowers together by using excess wire.Paint the tips of the straws using a nail varnish.Thread a headband in-between the two flowers. This enables you to change the position of flower when placed on the head.
The ringTo attach the flower to a ring you will need to use epoxy glue. Apply glue to the base of the flower and hold it in place on the ring.Use the same glue on the back of the gem and hold in place at the centre of the flower.
BroachThis one uses two different flowers at different lengths.Attach the two together by tying wire around them both.Using the wire weave it between both flowers and through the holes in the broach pin. Secure this by tying the wire into a knot.
