Source and cut out your chosen bag pattern. The above pattern is the one used for the example shown, which uses two bag bodies and one bag bottom.
Cut out your pattern and arrange onto your fabric.
Pin the pattern down and cut out your fabric shapes, which for this example shown would be two bag bodies and one bottom from each of your chosen fabrics.
Sew together the handle ends of the bag bodies. Pin the patterned body of fabric to the plain body of fabric (inside out). Pin along the curved edges and the handle. Leave the sides open.
Sew along curved edge and long handle.
Turn the right way around by pulling the material through the handle.
Open the bag so the wrong side is facing and the handle is in the middle. Match seams and fabrics. Pin and stitch the side seams (the longest side).
Match seam to centre of longest side of bottom piece. Pin and sew bottom piece face down. Leave an opening to one side seam (four inches).
Pull the bag the right way around, out through the opening in the bottom. Stitch the opening up by hand.
